Hello again,  

Great news! We can now introduce you to our first 5 'BLOGGERS'.

We have Mr Peter Smith, Peter has been attending Marquisway for a long time. He very much enjoys coming in to the centre. Peter is a keen sportsman and a member of the Special Olympic Javelin team. He has won 2 medals for javelin throwing and discus. We very much look forward to his sporting blogs. He is a Newcastle United fan and enjoys a good natter about the club.
Next we have Mr Norman Stephenson, Norman has attended Marquisway for a lot of years. He enjoys coming in each mornng. Norman is a bit of a card shark and is often found playing card games in his team room. He really loves the Friday afternoon disco's and is always in there adding his own percussion vibe to the music! Norman is looking forward to sharing is views and ideas with you all on this blog.
Ms Christine Croudass, Christine has also been coming here for a long time. Christine loves fashion, jewellery and music. Christine helps to provide pamper sessions at Marquisway. She does hand and head massages, this is a very popular activity. Christine is looking foward to telling you all about the fashion and music events at Marquisway.
Mr Steven Stuart, Steven attends Marquisway 2 days a week. On one of those days he attends Gateshead People and will let us know of any events, activities or information that may be of benefit to you. He is also out in the community on one of his days and will keep his eyes peeled for anything going on that you might enjoy!
Mr Shaun Lucas. Shaun, as you may know has a part time job at Marquisway which keeps him very busy. Shaun is hoping to share with you his experience of getting a job and how it came about.

To update you on our current situation.... we still cannot put photographs onto this blog! We are still waiting for this to be sorted out.

Don't forget that this Sunday we have the Pandemonium Drummers coming to Marquisway. Our Blogger, Norman, will be attending this event and he will let us know how it went on our next Blog.

There will not be a Blog next week as it is a Bank Holiday.

Welcome back to Marquisway Blog.

Since our last post we have had the Monday night disco, (last Monday of the month, unless it's a Bank Holiday). It's a really good night out, hot dogs and burgers are available to buy. There's a raffle with lots of prizes to win. You should come along, it's only £3.00 to get in and your carer gets in free.

The next disco night is Monday 29th June, 6.30 - 9.30.


The Boccia team went off to Bradford for a tournament. Our players did really well , all of them received a medal and Janet Hind managed to secure a place in the final and came second overall achieving a well deserved Silver Medal. Well done Janet.
There is to be another tournament in June, further details to follow.

On Sunday 24th May there is to be a PANDEMONIUM Drummers Event held at Marquisway. In addition to the drummers there will be stalls selling books/dvd's, Cakes and Jewellery. There will be a raffle and tombola. Refreshments will be available. Admission will be £1.00 on the day.

The stroke association had a garden clean up day in the garden with people from Virgin Media. It went very well, they all worked really hard. The stroke association are also planning a 'Purple Day' in the garden, we'll let you know nearer the time what this is and how we can be involved.

We still have no way to put photographs on here yet but this is being sorted out for us by the communications team at the Civic. Watch this space!
