27th July 2015 Hi, it's good to be back! We've had a few issues and been unable to post anything for a little while. We came close last week but the computer had other ideas! Anyway, here we go..... Events Information. We now have a weekly Ice Cream Parlour, this was Sally-Anne's idea. It happens every Thursday from 2pm until 2.30pm. Check your team notice boards for the list of items available and prices. We'll get a copy and 'BLOG' it for you. Our Wheelchair dance sessions are up and running again. Wednesday mornings in the Performing Arts room at 9.45am. There is a new Fashion Show being planned for later in the year. Watch this space for updates. ** General reminder that as it's summer we all need to take extra care. Even if the sun isn't shining it is still possible to get sunburnt. Remember to use sun cream, wear a hat and sunglasses. Drink plenty of water so that you don't dehydrate and start to feel poorly. Updates. ABCD: Recently discovered a beach in Newcastle, complete with sand, deck chairs and beach huts! Steven and Brenda thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon on the sand! Team 4 had another team trip. This time they went to Woodhorn museum, would you believe it? CLOSED! Seemed as though they were having a day of maintenance in order to get ready for the school holidays! So they went into Newbiggin to see the people in the sea statue. Then went off to Tynemouth to a new restaurant down on the beach called Carusoes. Really very nice and everyone had a great day. Thrive, they support the stroke association, have won a grant for £750. This money will be used for flowers and plants to go in our gardens. We need to be using our gardens, even if we pop out at break times with our drinks for a chat, talk to your team staff about taking some activities out there, great fun and relaxing too. 11th August we will be having a group of young people from People and Projects, Headliners. They will be working in the garden. 13th August The Stoke association are having a Clean Up day, Volunteers urgently required. (See Nicola) We will also be arranging a Clean up day. We have some Home Grown cabbages available and whilst we are not selling them, a donation to help us buy more seeds for next year would be appreciated. 20th August Wait for it..... BARBEQUE day! More information will be relaesed closer to the time in relation to cost for those who normally bring packed lunches. Summer Fair 2015. This was a huge success, £1000 raised for amenities. Well done to everyone who donated, manned (or womanned!) the stalls, sang, 'cat walked', sold raffle tickets, picked winning raffle tickets, baked and of course spent their cash! We have around 300 photo's taken by our very enthusiastic cameraman on the day, thanks to Ronald for that. Below is just a small sample. Please ask Ronald if you would like to see them all.
and not forgetting, all the counting by our 2 lovely ladies in the reception office.. Chris and Paula
Well done again everyone. Don't forget email us if you have info to advertise on here. Remember to take lots of pics of all your events and activities and let us have them too.
