"Walking to music".
This is session is primarily aimed at service users with more complex needs, promoting self expression and allowing participants to undertake their physiotherapy recommendations in a musical environment.

"Listening to music while walking has surprising effects, it helps you walk farther because it distracts you from the effort of exercise and makes it more pleasurable .

Music plus exercise boosts brain power and improves brain function.

Boosts your mood and relieves stress.

Benefits your physical and mental health, Ease pain, Motivate people, help people relax, help with symptom’s of depression and puts you in a good mood.

Walking to music is a session for people to come in and enjoy themselves and have fun and listen to music, walk, socialize, relax." (Leyanne Keenan - Session Coordinator)

Team 4 Artwork

Team 4 spent several months creating a stained glass window effect piece of Art. It was then given to St Andrews Church in Kibblesworth.
On the 25th May, Team 4 and Marquisway were invited to a dedication service at the church.
It was brilliant to see the artwork in position, next to a real stained glass window.

We also noticed this advertisement for the Summer Fair at St Andrews. You are sure to receive a warm welcome if you pop along on Saturday 25th June between 2pm and 4pm.

19th May 2016

Hi, welcome back to our BLOG.

Update

Marquisway Garden.

We have had lots of people from STRIVE working in the gardens. The whole area looks so much better. We now have some new grassed areas, a new raised bed for veg/herbs or flowers.

We had some staff here from the NHS working on the composting bins, so that we can recycle garden waste so that it helps the plants grow. This is a very environmentally friendly method of gardening.

The Greenhouse has also been tidied up by the people from Strive. It looks so much better don't you think?
The gardeners have also been invited along to our summer fair.

Boccia (not Special Olympic event)

This competition was the final of the Heathcote Cup, held in Sheffield. Heats were held in Newcastle and Guildford earlier this  year. Andrew and Christopher both qualified for the final during the heats in 1st and 3rd position. This was the highest standard that we competed in and all played really well.
Andrew was pipped at the post for 3rd place in the last game! He finished 4th. Christopher finished 5th.
A really good day, meeting up with some  friends that we have met at previous Boccia tournaments.

                   Well done Andrew and Christopher!
