Some information for you about the Angling 4 All group.

North East Disability Sports Awards
Our angling club ‘Angling 4 All’ won the ‘Outstanding Sports Club’ award at the North East Disability Sports Awards last night at Slaley Hall. The award is testament to the commitment and application of the anglers and support staff who have grown this clubs substantially since 2014 into a fantastic success. It was great to see 2 of our anglers (Harry Hauxwell and Andrew Dodd) be present to collect the award.
Richard Young (Special Olympics Gateshead Tyne & Wear athlete and Shared Lives) won the ‘Participant of the year’ award for his Cycling and Athletics exploits. Anyone who knows Richard will understand that an award of this magnitude is befitting to a young man who has got a great future of him. Andrew Dodd (Winlaton Base), Susan Dalton (Marquisway) and Mark Proctor (Shared Lives) were also worthy finalists.
Congratulations to everyone!

Makaton Sign of the Week
Ice Cream
1. Hold your hand in a loose 'fist' position, as if you have an invisible ice cream cornet.
2. Stick out your tongue, politely, and raise your hand towards your mouth as if you are licking the ice cream.
3. Repeat the action.
Please remember, with all the signs, that it is important to speak the word or phrase at the same time.
That's it for this week, don't forget you can contact us if you would like us to advertise an event or if you have news that you would like to share with our readers.
